Purpose of the ISRO Internship

Types of Internship/Training Programs at ISRO

Internship Scheme – For UG/PG/PhD students pursuing or recently graduated.
Student Project Trainee Scheme – For students doing final-year academic projects.
Summer/Winter Training Programs – Conducted at centers like IIRS (Indian Institute of Remote Sensing).

Who Can Apply?

Indian citizens enrolled in recognized universities in India or abroad.
Fields of study: Science, Engineering, Technology (e.g., Aerospace, Electronics, CS, Mechanical, Physics, etc.).
Must have a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.32/10.
Must meet specific semester or course requirements based on the scheme.

Duration

Typically ranges from 45 days to 1 year, depending on the program.
- Short internships: 45 days (e.g., for BTech/BSc final years).
- Long-term projects: Up to 30 months (e.g., PhD scholars).

What Do Interns Do at ISRO?

Work on live ISRO projects under the guidance of scientists.
Learn about satellite data analysis, system design, programming, machine learning, remote sensing, etc.
Contribute to research papers and technical reports (with approval).

No stipend or accommodation is provided.
Interns work in non-classified areas only.
A certificate is awarded after successful completion and report submission.
Applications are accepted twice a year: by 31st March and 31st October.
